Holocaust

What Does Holocaust Mean?

The Holocaust began in 1933 when Hitler came to power in Germany and ended in 1945 when the Nazis were defeated by the Allied powers.
The term "Holocaust," originally from the Greek word "holokauston" which means "sacrifice by fire," refers to the Nazi's persecution and planned slaughter of the Jewish
people. The Hebrew word "Shoah," which means "devastation, ruin, or waste," is also used for this genocide.
In addition to Jews, the Nazis targeted Gypsies, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, and the disabled for persecution. Anyone who resisted the Nazis was sent to forced labor or murdered.
The term "Nazi" is an acronym for "Nationalsozialistishe Deutsche Arbeiterpartei" ("National Socialist German Worker's Party").
The Nazis used the term "the Final Solution" to refer to their plan to murder the Jewish people.

Ghettos

After the beginning of World War II, Nazis began ordering all Jews to live within certain, very specific, areas of big cities, called ghettos.
Jews were forced out of their homes and moved into smaller apartments, often shared with other families.
Some ghettos started out as "open," which meant that Jews could leave the area during the daytime but often had to be back within the ghetto by a curfew. Later, all ghettos became "closed," which meant that Jews were trapped within the confines of the ghetto and not allowed to leave.
When the Nazis decided to kill the remaining Jews in a ghetto, they would "liquidate" a ghetto by boarding the last Jews in the ghetto on trains.
When the Nazis attempted to liquidate the Warsaw Ghetto on April 13, 1943, the remaining Jews fought back in what has become known as the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. The Jewish resistance fighters held out against the entire Nazi regime for 28 days, longer than many European countries had been able to withstand Nazi conquest.

Concentration and Extermination Camps

Although many people refer to all Nazi camps as "concentration camps," there were actually a number of different kinds of camps, including concentration camps, extermination camps, labor camps, prisoner-of-war camps, and transit camps.

Jewish customs

Flowers are normally not sent, for the following reasons:
Simplicity. The tradition in Judaism is to keep funerals as
simple as possible, to make everyone equal in death.
Tradition. Although flowers are not prohibited, the custom arose over time of not sending flowers, and making contributions instead. In ancient days, the Talmud informs us, fragrant flowers and spices were used at the funeral to offset the odor of the decaying body. Today, this is no longer essential and thus, many Jews do not use them at Jewish funerals at all. Most feel it is much better to honor the deceased by making a contribution to a synagogue or hospital, or to a medical research association for the disease which afflicted the deceased. This method of tribute is more lasting and meaningful.
Instead of flowers Jews usually put small white rocks.

The first watch made was invented by Abraham Louis Bréguet as a gift for Caroline Murat, sister of Napoleon Bonaparte, in 1814.The invention was assigned to Athoni Patek and Adrien Phillipe owners of Patek-Phillipe. The model became popular as a feminine fashion adornment. At the XX century, Santos Dumont by needing one, because he always had his hands dirty asked his friend Louis Cartier, to invent a watch for him. In 1904 the watch was finally made, and so because of this Santos Dumont was considered the responsible for the invention of man’s watch.

Science-Fiction

Science-fiction is probably admired by everybody because it makes us dream with those amazing experience.
Science-fiction movies, are in most of the cases great. Special effects are spectacular, and the majority of the movies have a great story making us want to be there among all that excitation and those wonderful adventures.
All the three of us appreciate science-fiction movies because the movies are usually
very well designed, whit special effects and sound tracks to which we most give value.
In Carlos` case he really likes "Transformers" thanks to the amazing story and good and pretty actors (Megan Fox), by the way the special effects are great.
Francisco prefers the "Lord of The Rings" 'cause of the fresh fight and adventures for the Human race against the evil force.
José agrees with Carlos and Francisco adding that the sound tracks, the main actors and the fact that being a feature only makes it better.

Vampires.

Vampires. What nice people (or not)... Now-a-days vampires are among all TV channels, and famous movies. We don't really think that it is a fascinating thing, but Twilight movies are making girls crazy becouse Stephanie Meyer has designed vampires like these pretty and mysterious creatures.
We are not criticizing vampires' fans, we are just saying that we don't really make the case of liking it.
By the way, this new type of vampires are cute, like Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed, and the movies are designed very well with a different and fresh type of story that is changing the point of view of many people about the subject (a love story is always a love story <3), and the special effects are also amazing.
The myth of vampires has won many fans, and many of the new fans don't really know the age of the first myth. What we mean is that maybe this new fascination is probably temporary and probably will be forgotten after this twilight saga finishes...

And in case of being in the presence of a "true" vampire, we advise you to RUN.

Take the time to make some sense
Of what you want to say
And cast your words away upon the waves
Sail them home with acquiesce
On a ship of hope today
And as they land upon the shore
Tell them not to fear no more
Say it loud and sing it proud
Today..

And then dance if you want to dance
Please brother take a chance
You know they're gonna go
Which way they wanna go
All we know is that we don't know
How it's gonna be
Please brother let it be
Life on the other hand won't make us understand
We're all part of the masterplan

Say it loud and sing it proud
Today..
I'm not saying right is wrong
It's up to us to make
The best of all the things that come our way
Cause everything that's been has past
The answer's in the looking glass
There's four and twenty million doors
On life's endless corridor
Say it loud and sing it proud
And they..

Will dance if they want to dance
Please brother take a chance
You know they're gonna go
Which way they wanna go
All we know is that we don't know
How it's gonna be
Please brother let it be
Life on the other hand won't make you understand
We're all part of the masterplan
