Easter in Ireland

Those in Ireland, who traditionally observe religious holidays, do so with great reverence at this time of year. As with other holidays, the people of Ireland vigorously clean and whitewash their homes. This time of year is traditionally known as the time to shop for new clothes. Easter marks a new season, a time of change, which is why cleaning the house and buying a new wardrobe is ingrained in the culture.

Lent is a quiet time of year for butchers due to so many people eating only fish in observance of the Lenten season. Some butchers even throw serious or mock celebrations for Easter, marking the end of Lent. There are specific customs and observations for each day around Easter Sunday.

This is a time period to respect Jesus' hardest part of his journey with the cross. Mass is a well-known observation on this day but after attending mass, some parts of Ireland use this time to visit gravesites. However the Irish observe this solemn day, it is with reverence and respect for the memory of Christ and for their community of people coming together to show respect for this holy day.

Many areas of the world include Easter eggs in some way into their celebration. Ireland is no different although, the egg is a central part of Easter Sunday. Eggs are not only collected, dyed, decorated, used in games such as egg rolling but they are eaten as well. People consume a large quantity of eggs on this day. The origin of the traditions involving eggs is a simple but powerful symbol of new life.

LeRoi Moore

LeRoi Holloway Moore (September 7, 1961 – August 19, 2008) was an American saxophonist best known as a founding member of the Dave Matthews Band. Moore often arranged music for the songs written by frontman Dave Matthews. Moore also co-wrote many of the band's songs, notably "Too Much" and "Stay (Wasting Time)".

Moore began playing professionally after a brief stay in college. Moore helped found the Charlottesville Swing Orchestra (1982), and the John D'earth Quintet. The latter played at Miller's, a Charlottesville bar, every Thursday night in the late 1980s, where Moore first met Dave Matthews in 1991. In an effort to bring in some instrumental help for some songs Matthews had written, Moore began recording songs with Matthews.

Unfortunately, in June 30th 2008, Moore had an accident with a motorcycle, and was badly injured. But it was during the recovery of the accident that Moore passed away, leading the world to lost one of the greatest musicians, and impoverish one of the best band ever.

That is why all the DMB fans miss him.

Eddie Vedder

Eddie Vedder is one of the best musicians ever, at least for us. His band, Pearl Jam is one of our favourite, so we find that the best way to show it is posting a little bit of his bio.

Eddie Vedder is an American musician and singer-songwriter who serves as the lead vocalist and one of three guitarists for the American rock band Pearl Jam. Vedder left the Southern California music scene and moved to Seattle, Washington in 1990 to join Pearl Jam where he rose to fame amid the grunge movement of the early 1990s. He is notable for his "golden baritone" vocal style, and is considered a cultural icon of alternative rock. He has also been involved in other music outside of Pearl Jam, including soundtrack work and contributions to albums by other artists. In 2007, Vedder released his first solo album as a soundtrack for the film Into the Wild (2007). Vedder was placed twenty-third by Hit Parader in their list of the 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Vocalists of All Time.
Vedder was born Edward Louis Severson in the Chicago suburb of Evanston, Illinois, the son of Karen Lee Vedder and Edward Louis Severson, Jr. His father was a lounge musician. His parents divorced in 1965, when Vedder was one year old. His mother soon remarried a man named Peter Mueller, an attorney, and Vedder was raised believing that Mueller was his biological father. His adopted name became Edward Mueller. While living in Evanston, Vedder's family fostered seven younger children in a group home.

In the mid-1970s, the family, including Vedder's three younger half-brothers, moved to San Diego County, California. It was at this point that Vedder, who had received a guitar from his mother on his twelfth birthday, began turning to music as a source of comfort. He particularly found solace in The Who's 1973 album, Quadrophenia. He said, "When I was around 15 or 16...I felt all alone...I was all alone—except for music." His mother and Mueller divorced when Vedder was in his late teens. His mother and brothers moved back to the Chicago area, but Vedder remained with his stepfather in California so he would not have to change high schools.

It was not until after the divorce that Vedder learned the truth about his parentage, that Mueller was really his stepfather. Vedder had met his biological father briefly as a child, but had believed that Severson was merely an old friend of his parents. By the time Vedder learned the truth, Severson had died of multiple sclerosis. Vedder's already bad relationship with his stepfather became increasingly strained. By his senior year at San Dieguito High School, Vedder was on his own, living in an apartment and supporting himself with a nightly job at a drug store in Encinitas. He eventually dropped out of high school in his senior year due to the pressures of balancing school with working. He joined the rest of his family in Chicago, and it was at this time that he changed his name to Eddie Vedder, Vedder being his mother's maiden name.

After some musical experiences Vedder ended up with Pearl Jam, and forming one of the best bands ever!

The Time Machine

He had been working at it for years as his father and grandfather before him, He knew that if he was persistent he would get there eventually. As he contemplated the devise he felt pride and joy for he was to fulfil his lifetime dream-to travel in time and that´s exactly what he did - he travelled to the past to meet his grandfather.
After spending some time looking for his grandfather, he finally did it. There he was, in the basement working on the machine:
-Who are you and what are you doing here?
-Hello…try to stay calm! You may not belive but I am your grandson and I come from the future to meet you and…
-And what?
-Well, if I am here it´s because I managed to…
-…you managed to finish the Time Machine?!
-Can you belive it? I have succeeded.
-Can I see it? I promise not to touch anything!
-Ok but only for a few minutes.
Meanwhile the grandfather could see the Time Machine and to go back to the past…alone.
Both alone but both feeling proud and happy.

In the Future...

We woke up suddenly...The alarm-clock showed 5 am, we looked around and we saw somethig wasn't right... We were in a strange place, and we noticed that place was new for as... We were confused 'cause we didn't know what was happening... Fastly we dress up some clothes that were there (like a labcoat)... We looked for a exit but only after a few hours we found it...
We were in the street and looked crazy 'cause of our labcoats and... the streets...people... everything was changed.... it looked like those movies of the future, we asked people what year it was.... surprise surprise: 2110!
We managed to find some proper clothes, and we decided that we would look up for a reason for us to live to the age 116 and still be young.
Science was the reason... Our last memory was being in a car with one more person and had a car crash... apparently this fourth person died, he was the driver... Well, after the crash we went in coma, and our bodies were given to a science lab, and they managed to conserve our bodies and minds to live in the future....
At first it was a shock, and we "cried" our family and friends 'cause they were gone, but after that we dedicate ourselves to find a new and good life... well we looked out for girls and jobs... We were for independent and a great money compensation and guess what? We got rich... And our lives became really cool: A good house near each others house, a GOOD car and some good company.... Of course, we got ourselves some good projects, we invested in a robots company, and most of all to develop technology...

Games

All over the years video games have been getting great influence in teens' lives.
Violent games, more precisely, can be considered a bad influence because experts say that violent games lead kids to violence.
Fortunately there are more types of games. Unfortunately, shooting games and fighting games are the favourites in many teens. The reasons are quite a few, most relevant is the stress, and the opportunity of doing what they can't do in real life, to Kill.
Anyway we are not into these type of games very much. We are more fans of PES (pro evolution soccer), the best soccer simulation.

Zé Pedro says that his favourite games are PES10 and Call of Duty, two different types of games but that both require Strategy.
Carlos shares Zé's opinion about PES, but instead of COD he prefers Counter Strike. Why?
Ask Him...
Just kidding the reason is practically the same...
Francisco, the cute one from the 3Gents, prefers curiously PES10 also, but instead of COD or Counter Strike he prefers Medal of Honor...

The difference between this tree types of games (COD, CS, and MOH) is the story behende them. Medal pf honor is about the world war two, COD his about todays war so its more actual.
Counter strike is just shooting... The fun in this one is the fact that we can play it online.

But for the sleepless nights together the 3Gents love Uncharted.

The evil scientist

I followed the evil scientist into a dark room. What I saw, I would never forget...
A Blond girl, beautiful, white and clean , a lovely face so pure and genuine.
She was lieing down on a table, apparently sleeping. That was when I saw the scientist preparing to instal a machine on the top of her.
At the begining I didn't understand what he was doing, but them he switched on the machine, and... Was he trying to clone her? Apparently yes, but all went wrong...
That was When I Fell down and he got me... I was surprised but he did not hurt me, he helped me... As he saw the surprise in my face he explained me that once that girl was his lover, that died of a disease and he was trying to bring her back to life again.
He also explained to me that all his attempts went wrong... I asked if there was anything I could do to help... Bitterly, he told me no.... That this mission was his, and only his, so that he could show her once again how much he loved her.
He just asked me one thing, not to tell anyone...
Although, I didn't understand that wish, I respected it... He was going to keep the reputation of evil scientist so that noone got into his "mission".

Sunglasses

Sunglasses or sun glasses are a form of protective eyewear that usually enclose or protect the eye pupil in order to prevent strong light, ultraviolet (UV) rays, and increasingly, blue light ("blue blocking") from penetrating. They can sometimes also function as a visual aid, as variously termed spectacles or glasses exist which feature lenses that are colored, polarized or darkened. In the early 20th century they were also known as sun cheaters (cheaters being an American slang term for glasses).
Many people find direct sunlight too bright for comfort. During outdoor activities, the human eye can receive more light than usual. Healthcare professionals recommend eye protection whenever outside to protect the eyes from ultraviolet radiation and blue light, which can cause several serious eye problems. Sunglasses have long been associated with celebrities and film actors primarily from a desire to hide or mask their identity. Since the 1940s sunglasses have been popular as a fashion accessory, especially on the beach.
